Abstract

The paper addresses the problem of the preliminary identification of potentially conflicting vehicle interactions based on trajectory data from video monitoring. The need to move beyond the analysis of recorded road traffic accidents towards an examination of the actual interaction parameters of road users is substantiated. An approach is proposed based on a comparison of the minimum predicted distance between vehicles with a critical distance and a safe following distance. The main stages of input data formation predicted proximity calculation, and classification of the level of potential conflict are examined

Abstract

The article substantiates the development of all-season cycling infrastructure as a necessary structural condition for integrating personal mobility devices (PMDs) into the urban mobility system. A vehicle that ceases operation for 5–6 months a year cannot be considered a full-fledged component of the transport system, as it fails to provide the required regularity and all-season coverage. Technical, infrastructural, and behavioural barriers to the winter use of PMDs are identified; it is established that the key barrier is the absence of specialised infrastructure rather than the design of the vehicle itself. Standard cross-sectional profiles of 2.5 m wide cycle paths adapted to standard snow-clearing equipment are developed. An aggregated calculation of construction costs (~RUB24 million/km) and operating costs (~RUB135,000/km per year) is performed. Based on a spatiotemporal analysis of data from a kick-scooter sharing operator in two districts of Moscow, routes for all-season cycle paths connecting residential areas with metro stations are proposed. It is shown that operating costs are covered by revenues generated by kick-scooter sharing users, with a construction payback period of 14–24 years

Abstract

The subject of the study is a transport interchange hub (hereinafter — TIH) on a road along the embankment of the small historic city of Uglich, integrating road, public and water transport. The relevance of the study is driven by the poor quality of the road network, the absence of a stormwater drainage system, bank erosion and disorganised traffic flows, which reduce environmental safety and the urban environment quality index indicators. The following methods were applied: field survey, spatial analysis in QGIS, functional zoning of the territory, assessment of environmental risks to the water body, and analysis of the urban environment quality index. As a result, the main sources of negative impact of petroleum products and suspended solids on the aquatic environment were identified. Functional zoning of the embankment was proposed with the allocation of recreation zones, public transport zones, parking areas and a historic core. A surface runoff collection and treatment system and a traffic management scheme were developed. It is shown that the implementation of the TIH improves road safety indicators, the share of streets with stormwater drainage and pedestrian accessibility. The proposed TIH model reduces the technogenic impact on the water body and corresponds to the objectives of specialisation 2.1.8 — road design and transport tunnel engineering — in terms of bank reinforcement and interchange hubs

Abstract

The subject of the study is the load-bearing reinforced concrete structures of transport construction facilities — bridges, overpasses, tunnels, and buildings and structures of transport infrastructure. The relevance of the study is defined by the need for a quantitative safety forecast for transport structures under conditions of reinforced concrete degradation, including pre-operational defects and operational impacts. The research method is based on a generalized mathematical model of bearing capacity reduction with separate consideration of pre-operational damage and operational degradation, as well as a piecewise description of repair interventions using linear and non-linear degradation functions. Analytical relationships for forecasting bearing capacity and the safe service life before major overhaul are obtained. Quantitative boundaries of serviceable, limited-serviceability, and emergency states are introduced: R_lim = 0.9 and R_emerg = 0.75. To transition from individual elements to the structure as a whole, structural significance values determined by the Delphi method are proposed. A method for accounting for repairs and forming generalized indicators of bearing capacity and degradation rate for the structure as a whole has been developed

Abstract

The subject of the study is a translucent domed roof of a transport interchange hub with largespan glued laminated timber beams and triple-glazed units. The relevance of the study is driven by climate change in central Russia, where a consistent increase in mean annual temperature of 4 °C over 50 years, a 40% rise in the frequency of abnormal heat events, and a 20% increase in solid precipitation have been recorded. For passenger waiting areas, this leads to overheating, while in winter it results in condensation on the glazing and snow loads on the dome. The research methodology includes full-scale testing of a prototype dome fragment measuring 4.2×2.5 m in a climatic chamber at temperature differentials from +20 to –26 °C, numerical modelling in the Window 7.0 software package, construction of solar maps for latitude 58°N, and development of an integrated blind control algorithm. As a result, the reduced thermal resistance of the glazing unit was found to be 0.82 m²·°C/W, which is 46% above the regulatory requirement. Risk zones for condensation along the glazing perimeter were identified at an inner surface temperature of 10.8 °C and a dew point temperature of 21.4–26.1 °C. Local electric heating of the glazing unit perimeter is proposed. The control algorithm reduces the number of open–close cycles by a factor of 3.3, and the integrated solar protection, heating and de-icing system reduces annual energy consumption for climate control in waiting areas from 110 to 45 kWh/m², achieving energy efficiency class A++. A methodology for calculating condensation zones with a vertical temperature gradient of 0.5 °C/m for tall atriums in transport hubs has been developed

Abstract

The subject of the study is the thermal regime of permafrost soils at the base of a building on deep pile foundations with enlarged bases. The relevance of the study is driven by the need to improve the bearing capacity and durability of foundations in the cryolithic zone under climate change conditions; the use of enlarged bases allows the bearing capacity of piles to be increased by a factor of 2–2.5 compared to cylindrical counterparts. As a result of numerical modelling of a non-stationary temperature field in the Frost. Termo software package, taking into account the performance of the pile-grillage system with enlarged bases, spatial and temporal distributions of soil temperatures were obtained, and the frost bond forces and bearing capacity of piles with enlarged bases were assessed. The effect of the enlarged base acting as a natural anchor providing additional pull-out resistance under frost heave was established; the bearing capacity of piles with enlarged bases decreases by 19.3% by 2039 compared to the initial value: from 3,551 kN to 2,865 kN. Enlarged bases in deep piles are an effective structural solution for construction in permafrost; the results of numerical modelling allow forecasting changes in foundation bearing capacity over time and substantiating the need for soil thermal stabilisation

Abstract

The paper presents a comprehensive analysis of the transformational impact of artificial intelligence (AI) tool implementation on the organizational structure and key competencies of middle managers. Based on an analysis of Russian and international literature and practical AI implementation case studies, the study identifies a fundamental shift in the manager’s role: from operational control towards the functions of strategist, coach and hybrid leader ensuring collaboration between algorithmic systems and the team. The paper systematises the key AI technologies that define digitalization trends in management, and proposes principles for adapting organizational structures for the effective integration of algorithms. The main conclusion is that the successful implementation of AI does not lead to a reduction in management positions but requires the targeted development of new competencies, such as digital and AI literacy, strategic thinking, emotional intelligence and ethical leadership. The research findings form the basis of a roadmap for companies to revise KPI systems and develop training programs, which is of significant interest to professionals in management, HR and digital transformation

Abstract

The behaviour of connected automated vehicles in implementing cooperative safety functions depends on the timely exchange of V2X messages. At the same time, the end-to-end impact of 5G NR-V2X Mode 2 message delivery failures on vehicle behaviour requires evaluation not only by aggregated network metrics but also by the timeliness of V2X message arrival within the time window acceptable for the control controller. The paper presents a reproducible co-simulation environment integrating the SUMO traffic mobility simulator, information exchange via TraCI, network simulation in ns‑3/ms-van3t, the 5G-LENA NR sidelink module, the Sionna RT geometric radio channel model and event logs. The environment implements mechanisms for modifying link quality for individual vehicles and end-to-end message tracing with identifier preservation for message analysis and assessment of the impact of message losses on connected automated vehicle behaviour. Experimental validation was performed in two scenarios. In the emergency vehicle warning scenario, a series of 140 independent iterations showed that as PRR (Packet Reception Ratio) decreases from 0.9412 to 0.0675, the 90th percentile of the first CAM (Cooperative Awareness Message) reception delay increases from 4.45 to 32.52 s. Spearman’s rank correlation identifies a direct relationship between txPower (transmitter power) and PRR (ρs = 0.981, p < 0.001) and an inverse relationship between PRR and P90 delay (ρs = –0.927, p < 0.001). In the priority intersection conflict scenario, stable V2X message exchange ensures that the first useful warning arrives before the critical moment of control action formation. As a result, no collision occurred in any of the 30 independent iterations. In the “radar-only” and “radar + degraded V2X” modes, the warning arrives after the critical moment, causing each iteration to end in a collision. The results show that the safety assessment of cooperative functions requires joint analysis of PRR, the temporal structure of message arrival and vehicle behaviour.

Abstract

The large-scale shift to online retail has given rise to new urban infrastructure facilities — dark stores. The demand for dark stores and their location in city centers is driven by the need for rapid delivery of food and non-food goods by courier services. Despite the obvious convenience for citizens, the operations of such services are accompanied by numerous inconveniences for residents of apartment buildings, motor vehicle drivers, and pedestrians, caused by couriers’ use of personal mobility devices.
Consequently, the subject of this study comprises the social relations arising in the course of ensuring road safety, organizing parking facilities adjacent to dark stores, and preventing public order violations related to their placement in apartment buildings. A study of best international practices in dark store operations will enable their experience to be incorporated into Russian legislation.
The authors conclude that it is expedient to enshrine in the legislation of the Russian Federation a definition of a dark store, as well as to establish requirements for the placement of both dark stores themselves and the infrastructure required for the stopping and parking of courier vehicles, which will ensure safety for pedestrians and transport
